What We Believe

God - The God of the Bible is the true God. We believe that there is but one living God, revealed in three Persons – Father, Son (Jesus Christ) and Holy Spirit, being the same in substance, equal in power and glory.

The Bible - We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are God-breathed, are inerrant in the original writings, and are totally accurate in every subject they touch. We believe that the Scriptures are the supreme and final authority in all matters of doctrine, faith, and life.

Human Condition - We believe God created mankind in His image, intricately designed to live in the world that He created, and intended to live in relationship with Him. We were created to love God, worship, and obey Him. All of us have rebelled against God, resulting in physical and spiritual death. Man is depraved, unable to remedy his own condition, and is subject to God’s judgment and condemnation. Only through Christ Jesus, can a right relationship be established with God.

Jesus Christ - We believe that Jesus is God incarnate - meaning - both fully God and fully man. He is one Person in two natures. He is the promised Messiah and just as was written, was conceived through the Holy Spirit and born to Mary. He lived a sinless life on earth, and He died after suffering on the cross as the perfect, all-sufficient sacrifice for our sins. We believe that after dying on the cross, Jesus physically rose from the dead, ascended into heaven and will one day return. His atoning death and resurrection is the only way to Salvation.

Holy Spirit - We believe the Holy Spirit is God’s intimate, and powerful spiritual presence in our lives. He works within each believer to convict of sin, move to repentance, transform lives, call the individual to holy service, unite with other believers, and to proclaim God’s message. The Spirit walks beside and dwells within believers and serves as a comforter, counselor, advocate, helper, and partner.

Church - The Church includes all those that confess their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. It extends beyond denominations and borders uniting all believers under the headship of Jesus Christ. We each have been given gifts through the Holy Spirit that are used to teach, serve, encourage, and lead one another. The Church, globally and locally, is called to make disciples throughout the world and to follow the teachings of Christ; joining together to fellowship, encourage one another, study scripture, break bread, pray and worship God.

Eternal Promise - We believe in God’s eternal promise that one day, all believers, will be with Him in Heaven. We live expectantly, knowing that even when we die on earth, we will be with God for eternity. We also believe in Hell, an eternal judgment, and separation from God for anyone who does not accept and believe in Jesus Christ.

Christian Living - We believe that God calls us to be obedient to His Word. We acknowledge that we are not saved by our works, nor our obedience but by God’s grace alone. We strive to be Holy just as God is Holy. As followers of Christ, we dedicate all aspects of life.

In accordance with His Word, we believe marriage is a Holy sacrament ordained and established by God between a man and a woman.

We aspire to act and live in ways that would bring others to the saving Grace of Christ.

Through our gifts, finances, time and talents we seek to display the love of God by serving others. We seek to embody the Great Commission, spreading the Gospel of Christ to all nations, by supporting and participating in missionary efforts locally, nationally and globally.

Creeds

The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth,

and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.  He descended into hell.

The third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.

Amen.

The Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father.  Through Him, all things were made.  For us and for our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man.  For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered death and was buried.  On the third day, He rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.  He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father.  With the Father and the Son, He is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets.  We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.  We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.  We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.

Amen.
